I really appreciated your sermon on Sat pm, Paul. I liked the story of Joseph running parallel to the way God works his kingdom. It reminded me of that verse in Proverbs that talks about a wise man planning for 5 generations. Our short term, temporal thinking must be the hardest thing for God to get over when hearing out our selfish prayers.

Thanks for reminding us that it is good to stop and ask what God’s kingdom looks like—vs. what we think it looks like. We’re so conditioned we don’t even know we’re conditioned. Traditional, Western religious thinking isn’t always bad…running to the opposite side of the pendulum isn’t good either. We can’t get lazy, we’ve each got to keep working it out.

Remember when Cody and I sat down with you about a year after you married us and we hashed out our money issues? I came in thinking you’d tell me the cash-for- everything-system was the best way to do it. When Cody explained how his parents used loans to buy things, I thought for sure you’d slap Cody’s hand and tell him he was wrong. Instead you said that what my parents taught me was fine, and what Cody’s parents taught him was fine…that we’d have to find OUR system. That’s been hard work, but no one could have answered that for us. We continue asking God for guidance knowing there isn’t always going to be one down pat answer.

I love that you continue to challenge our spiritual transformation. We pray you won’t grow wearing waiting on all of us. So, thanks for carrying the torch!

Thanks for the great memory! It was an honor then and it is now.

It is neat to see how God works things out in ways we can’t imagine and far better than anyone could conceive.
